Clinique Pop Lipstick Samples

Clinique Pop Lipstick Samples

I brought both of these samples from Glamour magazine around Christmas 2015, I just haven’t got round to reviewing them. I love with samples that you can try colours from a range allowing you to see how well you get on with the textures and also if the colours suit your skin tone. What was brilliant with the glamour samples was you got two extremes from the range; you had the option of ‘Nude Pop’ or ‘Cherry Pop’ a beautiful natural tone or a vibrant red. I brought both as I an obsessive when it comes to lipstick; I have more than I like to admit too. The size of samples is brilliant and will give you multiple applications per stick. The packaging is a simple two tone split between the twist base and the lid, the base is a reflection of the colour inside and the lid is so reflective you can use it as a mirror.

Nude Pop

The formulation of this lipstick is stunning, there is no drag and the colour it gives is outstanding. A slightly mink-brown version of a nude with a shimmer and light glitter allows the light to bounce of your lips making them look fuller and bigger.

Cherry Pop

This red is what I would class as a true classic red; it is candy apple red in it’s slightly dark but highly reflective I feel there is a base note of fuchsia pink. I love this colour and would definitely purchase again; the formulation is super smooth and the colour lasted hours before needing to reapply.

With the Cherry Pop I warn you it takes a while to remove all of the pigment from your lips.

Overall I would highly recommend not only the colours but also the range.

Benefit - They're real Tinted Primer

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer (eyelash)

I am a sucker for sample sizes/ travel sized products that come with magazines as I feel they are a great way of trying out products; some of my favourite mini sizes always come from Benefit and this latest one is amazing.

For me speed is the key to my make up routine what with an 11 month old and a 4 year old to run around after if it is ineffective or needs more time than I feel it is worth it will rarely get used so to add another stage of mascara to my routine it needed to be something extraordinary to make it a regular. Well boy did this one make it below is a picture of the primer on its own, which to be fair if you wanted a good mascara this would work for a natural look as it is in mink brown allowing your natural lashes to look phenomenal but the magic really happens when you add mascara; my eyelashes looked like I had false ones on, they where longer, fuller, thicker and all round greatness. I describe them as the lashes you always wished you had. I cant recommend this product enough I cant wait to buy the full size product.

Just Primer

Primer and Benefit Rollerlash mascara

You can really see the difference; I now use this product everyday and the extra minute or so is very much worth it.

Ciate - London Baby

Ciaté – London Baby

This is the third colour in the London Taxi collection.

This glitter I used over ‘Leighton Denny’s Its An Honour’ it’s made up of a blend of mostly black particles with holographic and silver.

The large Ciaté brush came into its own with the glitter as you need less control than you do when applying the base colour; it allowed me to add the glitter coat in one swipe making it super quick and easy.

I have enjoyed using this collection and despite the issues I have had with the brush I would definitely buy Ciaté polishes again.

M.U.A power pout glaze serenity

M.U.A Power Pout Glaze – Serenity

I received this in the February GlossyBox

On first appearances this looks like a chunky board marker that can be found in school classrooms around the world its chunky nature makes it ungraceful and not the most appealing gloss in my collection; the high reflective twist section found at the bottom does add a sense of modernity on it so not all bad.

The applicator itself is a true brush with bristles; this is one of my favourite styles of applicator as it allows you more control as if you are using a professional lip brush without the effort of multiple cleaning sessions between colours. I found it took a very long time to get the initial colour to come up through the brush and be applied. The colour is distributed centrally in the brush allowing a smooth glossy liquid to flow in a singular stoke.

I like the twist function; to me is seems some what more hygienic as you are not putting the applicator back in to new product, after first use you only need to twist once or twice to get the desired amount.

The colour is a delicate pink in a low tack gloss that makes your lips look a better version of normal. I like the subtleness of this product and would happily buy more colours from this range. The packaging is easily forgiven once you start to use.
